Chopper lookalike - winner announced!

Thank you all for sending in your Chopper Lookalike photos. I reviewed all the photos several times over and I have to say that without a doubt ROWDY is the winner. Unfortunately Rowdy passed away in June - but we have video of him below still going strong in his "doggy wheelchair". Thanks to Terry for submitting it - you will be receiving a signed copy of my book A Famous Dog Life.

Here are the rest of the wonderful entries...

I would love to know what mixes are in those breeds...I lost my Teddy girl 5 years ago and I miss her and her personality soooo much!!!! I think she was part Terrier part Lab or Husky. She was 9 when I got her and I only had her 5 years...it wasn't long enough to enjoy her wonderful soul. If someone knows what mixes make those wonderful easy going nutty dogs, please email me at hardworker1ca@yahoo.ca

Anon - if you go to the post -

We discuss this in the comments section - Chopper is just a good ole Heinz 57 mixed breed :)

My guess would be a Briard mixed with some kind of terrier....

My dog looks a lot like Chopper too and I had his dna tested. neither of his parents ere pure breeds, but they could recognize some chow, some schnauzer, with a trace of pug and vizla....lol. He weighs only 40 lbs.

I love these! I love that Chopper has that dog next door look! I had a dog, Corky, who was part Airedale, part collie, part every breed in the neighborhood. Nearly every dog I saw looked a bit like Corky!

OMG! We rescued Tripp 5 years ago and told him he was unique, that there were no other dogs like him. Then we saw "Chopper" and could not believe our eyes! Now I see some similar dogs in these pix, but Tripp resembles Chopper, with the exception of his tail. Someone bobbed it before he was found wandering. We adore him, he is such a sweet boy.

I recognize that this contest was quite a long time ago but had to share our dog Bhim, who we think is a dead ringer for Chopper. See link to picture below.
